I’ll admit it; I have a procrastination problem. 90% of the time, when I sit down to write, I don’t feel like writing. But when I’m not writing, I’m thinking about how much I want to write. It really makes no sense.

Do other writers share this conundrum? I hope so. For a long time, I didn’t want to admit that I had a procrastination problem. I can get my work done when I have to. Which is good because when you’re a freelancer, you have to get your work done or you don’t get paid.

This isn’t a post about how to stop procrastinating. There are plenty of those out there and I have nothing new to add. It’s more about accepting the fact that you procrastinate because once you are aware of the problem, you can take steps to fix it. Or maybe you enjoy procrastinating. Maybe putting off the inevitable until the last minute helps your work turn out better. If so, good for you.

But if you’re like me and you find yourself checking Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube when you’re supposed to working, do not fret. You aren’t alone. Procrastination is perfectly normal. Especially for writers.
